We had my parents down for the weekend to celebrate Shane's 1st birthday.
We had a nice lunch and then sang to Shane and had "colorburst" cupcakes. I think Shane liked the cake and enjoyed the singing too.
Shane got lots of summer clothes for his birthday because that is what he needed the most. Who needs toys when you inherit them from three older siblings?
Here are his stats at one year old:
height: 28 1/4 inches (7%)
weight: 18 lbs. 8 oz. (2%)
Shane is still a little guy, but that is good for me because he likes to be held all the time!!
At one, Shane is cruising along furniture, standing alone briefly, saying "go" (sounds like "ga"), and we think he is trying to say "hi". He waves, claps, and bounces to music. (He seems to like Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" the most.) He is starting to eat a lot of finger foods and solids and really likes graham crackers, bananas, and yogurt the best.
Shane loves to empty my cabinets...
help unload the dishwasher...
and climb up the stairs.
He smiles at everyone, as long as they keep their distance!
He is a mama's boy for sure, and I am not complaining!
Shane is a happy kid and brings a lot of joy and laughter into our home. We are so grateful that he is part of our family.
